Suzuki stated that the design of this electric SUV, inspired by the "Emotional Versatile Cruiser concept," combines a sense of advanced technology and power. This EV uses a dedicated "HEARTECT-e" platform and powertrain to offer a flexible and responsive driving experience. Suzuki's new powertrain includes an eAxle (with motor and inverter) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.

The platform is specifically designed for electric vehicles, providing a spacious interior. Suzuki's electric SUV is also equipped with the AWD "ALLGRIP-e" system to enhance off-road capability and performance.

Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki stated that the company will "continue to expand its lineup of all-electric vehicles and provide mobility solutions tailored to the specific needs of various countries and regions."

The e Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, 1,635 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Its dimensions are similar to the new Kia EV3 (4,300 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,560 mm in height, and a 2,680 mm wheelbase).

Suzuki has yet to disclose the e Vitara's driving range, but the electric SUV will offer 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options. In January of last year, Suzuki indicated that the concept model had a range of up to 342 miles (about 550 km).

Production of this new electric SUV will begin in the spring of 2025 at Suzuki's Gujarat plant in India, with vehicles supplied to Toyota as well. Sales are expected to start in Europe, India, and Japan in the summer of 2025.
